    Markus easily won the 6 furlong William Almy S. at Suffolk Downs by 3 1/4 lengths. The $130,000 Keeneland September yearling is owned by Sound Money Stable, trained by Michael C. Aro and was bred in Kentucky by Jack Kent Cooke.

    Gobedie just missed at Oaklawn Park in the $50,000 Bayakoa S. at 1 1/16 miles. Dorothy Ann got her by a nose at the wire. The 4-year-old filly is owned by Fred and Scott Willis and was bred by Scott Willis in Kentucky.

    Miner's Mark made a good showing in the 4th race at Aqueduct yesterday. The seven furlong $43,000 allowance race drew a good field of 8 and sons of Miner's Mark finished 1st and 3rd. Justification, ridden by Richard Migliore, stumbled at the start, showed speed, dug in and prevailed by 3/4 of a length. The 4-year-old is owned and bred by J.V. Shields Jr in Florida and is trained by H. Allen Jerkens.

    Miner's Mark keeps 'em comin' with Soixante Dix breaking her maiden at Aqueduct yesterday, racing 6 furlongs. The 3-year-old Kentucky bred filly was up close from the start, responded when asked then drew clear by 2 1/2. Soixante Dix was produced by the Sharpen Up (GB) mare, Fancy n' Sharp.

    Dolly's Angel followed up her win last month with another hard fought battle on March 8th, at Aqueduct. The 4-year-old daughter of Miner's Mark won the Six Furlong, $47,000 race gamely after being bumped soundly late.

    Dolly's Angel, a 4-year-old daughter of Miner's Mark was impressive in the way she won a 7 furlong Allowance race at Philadelphia Park on Feb 27th. The filly broke alertly to set the pace, turned back challenges and under pressure won by 2. Dolly's Angel was produced by the Simply Majestic mare, Quick Catch Me and was bred in Kentucky by Ronald L. Marcus.

    Markus, a son of Miner's Mark, scored in a $17,000 Allowance race at Suffolk Downs on Feb 19th. The Kentucky-Bred layed third behind the pace and determined to win, did so by a nose in the 6 furlong test; final time 1:10.37.

    Miner's Mark has a nice filly at Santa Anita. On Friday, Jan 26th, Next Level was second by a neck in the 2nd race, a $69,104 allowance test for 3-year-old fillies, 1 mile in 1:37 4/5 on a sloppy track. Next Level, bred in Florida by Roger Verrier, is from the Seattle Slew mare, Choice Player.

    The Miner's Mark mare, Idol Gift came away with the winner's share of the purse at Gulfstream Park in a $35,000 allowance race. The final time for 6f was 1:11 4/5. The five-year-old mare, bred in Kentucky by Howard J. Baker, is trained by Carl A. Nafzger.
