| We have a small hobby apiary, with a couple of fancy hives. My grandfather had an intrest in beekeeping so I suppose that is where my interest stems from. I began my adventure in 1995 and I'm still at it. In June of 2000 I completed the Master Beekeeper course at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. I have an interest in using honey to load horses prior to exercise and racing. Thus, feeding the work, working/racing on an insulin rise, and feeding the recovery immediately post work/race. The result is increased glucose available, preserving muscle glycogen stores for the anerobic phase. Timing of the loader is based on the individual horse's blood glucose levels over a period of training. This being similar to using a glycogen loader. | |||
